dynamic martial arts of sioux falls
Dynamic Martial Arts (DMA) is proud to host the inaugural Sioux Falls Tournament of Blades, continuing our long-standing tradition of promoting excellence, inclusivity, and community through martial arts.
Who is DMA?:
Based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Dynamic Martial Arts is a multi-disciplinary training center offering high-quality instruction in both traditional and modern martial arts. Under the leadership of Head Instructor Joe Herreman, DMA has brought together a team of expert instructors from a variety of backgrounds to create one of the most respected martial arts schools in the region.
With over 20 years of service to the community, DMA has grown into a trusted name in martial arts education. We offer training for all ages and experience levels, with classes that emphasize technical skill, personal growth, and respectful discipline. Our current classes include:
A Tradition of Community and Competition:
For over a decade, Dynamic Martial Arts has organized events that bring together practitioners from a wide spectrum of martial systems—including Taekwondo, Judo, Jujitsu, Karate, Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kendo, Capoeira, and many more.
Our flagship event, the Sioux Falls Open Martial Arts Tournament, (www.siouxfallsopen.com) has become one of the largest and most diverse martial arts tournaments in the region. That tournament celebrates all forms of martial arts through open-style competition in striking, grappling, kata, and self-defense divisions.
The new Sioux Falls Tournament of Blades is a natural extension of this mission, giving edged weapon practitioners their own dedicated arena to test and showcase their skill.
Why the Tournament of Blades?
As interest in sword-based martial arts continues to grow—through disciplines such as Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), Olympic fencing, Kendo, Kenjutsu, and other bladed systems—DMA saw the need for a tournament that recognizes and honors the unique traditions and strategies of edged weapon combat.
The Sioux Falls Tournament of Blades brings together martial artists of different styles and backgrounds to engage in respectful, competitive, and meaningful matches. It’s more than just a tournament—it’s a gathering of martial communities with shared values of discipline, learning, and mutual respect.
